Graham Macdonald, Scottish Borders painters and decorators, began trading in 1983, becoming a limited company in 2001. The business is based in Ancrum, near Jedburgh. Over the years we have built a strong customer base through hard work, reliability and, above all, quality. The business, through the CITB, has taken on and trained 10 apprentices from the local area, achieving an award in 2008 for commitment to apprenticeship training.
We undertake all types of painting and decorating work from cottages to mansions and factories to farmyards. We also offer a very high quality tiling service for walls and floors and can provide this to complement any decorating work, or as a separate contract. Ames taping of plasterboard in new build houses or extensions is also something we specialise in.
From large specialist conservation and heritage projects to painting a village phone box, we pride ourselves on the high standard of our work throughout. We do not use sub-contractors but ensure all work is carried out, to our high specification, by our skilled team of eight painters.

Your walls can be prepared by treating with fungicide, pressure washing and finishing by brush, roller or airless spray depending on location and materials being used.
We will recommend the best products for each individual job and we have a lot of experience applying Keim Mineral Paints, Farrow and Ball, Dulux, Valtti and most other trade brands.
We can also paint all your woodwork and metalwork using only the best, longest lasting, paints.

Internally we can do just about anything you need as our team are all highly skilled paper hangers and painters.
We can transform your kitchen by hand painting old, varnished units.
Rooms can be fully decorated in any colour you can imagine and walls papered with intimate skill.
All this will be done with an emphasis on protecting your furniture, floor coverings etc. as we are conscious that we are working in your home, or place of work, and understand the responsibility that this brings with it.

We specialise in all wall and floor tiling, using only high quality BAL materials, and you can see a great range of tiles at Tile Style in Galashiels.
We can also give your existing tiles an overhaul by renewing grout and silicone and making sure that baths and showers are waterproof and won't cause expensive leaks.
